Choosing shower curtains

When choosing  curtains for your shower there are many options to consider

Curtains consist of the fabric outer curtain and a nylon liner that remains on the inside of the bathtub or shower. Some options  include those with mildew resistance, germ resistance, machine washable and dryer, and those that ensure water, shampoo, and soap will easily slide off of the curtain. Making certain that  curtains remain clean and free from germs is just as important as choosing curtains that have a nice, decorative pattern.

The top of them must be considered as well. Look for one  that has metal grommets as these are more secure and won’t fray or become damaged like other curtains will. When choosing one that will match or complement your bathroom décor, consider selecting  curtain rings that will also enhance the appearance of the  curtains. Many times  curtain rings are overlooked, or the same rings are used, even when a new one is selected. When selecting a new curtain for your shower also choose new curtain rings that will enhance the look of your curtains.

There are several different types  available to select from. Vinyl, nylon, and fabric are the most popular types. Vinyl  curtains can be treated with solutions that will prevent the growth of mildew or mold. Nylon  curtains are also treated with solutions that can help prevent mildew and mold. You can choose some in various degrees of thickness and weight as well. The thicker the weight of the curtain, the more protection it will provide. Many  are also flame retardant. To make certain the properties or features of any  curtain you select, be sure to read the manufacturer’s label and information. Not all curtains can be laundered in the same manner, so make sure that you follow the labels instructions for care.
